Kayla E. Harrington was primarily raised in Plano, Texas, where she learned to ride horses and showed dressage at ‘A’ circuit shows in the United States Dressage Federation Region 9. After high school, Kayla attended Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, double majoring in Anthropology and Hispanic Studies and earning an emphasis in socio-cultural and linguistic anthropology. For her law degree, she attended Texas A&M School of Law here in Fort Worth, Texas.

While in law school, Kayla worked as a horse-drawn carriage driver in downtown Fort Worth and as an intern in various law firms in Fort Worth, including a year-long internship at Schneider Law Firm. After practicing family law and criminal defense with a large law firm, Kayla returned to Schneider Law Firm to focus on family law. Kayla practices family law, including divorce, child custody, visitation, name changes, and adoption, in Tarrant and Parker Counties. Kayla is also licensed to practice in front of the Federal Court in the Northern District of Texas.

Kayla loves being a family law attorney because there are so many moving parts to each case. She enjoys being able to explain all of the options to help her clients make sure they understand the benefits and drawbacks to each option. Going through a family law case can be an extremely turbulent and stressful experience, Kayla wants to make sure her clients are well informed to help put them at ease and to pursue the resolution option that is best for the client. She is fond of negotiating tailor-made agreements for clients so that the court orders suit her clients’ lives and schedules. Kayla also enjoys going to court, presenting cases, advocating clients’ positions to the judge, and cross-examining opposing parties.

In her spare-time, Kayla co-leads a Young Professionals group at the church she attends. When she isn’t in court or at church, Kayla is either traveling or relaxing with her two rescue cats. Her favorite places to travel are Toronto, New Orleans, and national parks.
